Tibet Speeds Up Govt-funded Housing Project

 

A farmer builds a two-story house in Deqen Village, Dagze county, southwestern China's Tibet Autonomous Region, March 24, 2006. Tibet has accelerated the housing project for low-income farmers and herders. During the 11th Five-Year Guidelines Period (2006-2010) of China, Tibet Autonomous Region will raise a fund worth 2,726 million yuan (about US$339.3 million) to ensure that some 219,800 farmer or herder families settle down in the government-funded houses.
