Ferries Overcrowded Due to Tomb Sweeping Flock

More than 10,000 people swarm onto a ferry that crosses the Yangtze River at Jiujiang in east China's Jiangxi Province April 2, 2006. They had been stranded for hours after thick fog closed the crossing.

A woman is injured in the rush to board the ferryboat and is rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.

A boy is helped to board a ferry by local policeman inspecting and controlling the a mass river crossing.
