Many workers are choosing to rest at home for the upcoming National Day holiday due to their long-term heavy workloads, the Laodong Daily reported today.
According to the latest survey by www.zhaopin.com on how to spend the weeklong National Day holiday, 33 percent of respondents said they plan to have a good rest during the holiday.
"I am planning to buy many DVDs these days to enjoy myself for the holiday, as I am tired of the faster work rhythms and frequent social activities," said Wang, a supervisor with a foreign-invested firm, adding that he could hardly wait for the holiday to relax himself.
Forty percent of respondents considered it necessary to rest for the holiday. Furthermore, resting at home was the top choice for locals, while only 19 percent chose to go traveling, according to the survey.
"The weeklong holiday is usually the peak period for travel, with so many people crowding into tourists sites, so I prefer to stay at home," said a local white-collar employee, adding that gathering with parents and friends is a good choice.
Relaxing is a right choice for local employees during the holiday, and they should arrange their free time in a reasonable way, an expert warned, adding that excessive entertainment can also have a negative impact on people's health.
