A migrant worker, whose legs were crushed by a subway train, is suing the Beijing Metro Corporation for 1.5 million yuan or US$150, 000 for negligence.
Wu Hualin, fell off the platform and had his legs crushed by an incoming train at Nanlishilu station in west Beijing on September 29th, 2004.
His lawyer is arguing that platform staff failed in their duty to protect the safety of passengers and that warning signs on the platform are not eye-catching enough.
The Metro Corporation claims that the yellow safety belt and the warning signs provided are sufficient and that Wu's fall was caused by his own impatience.
The courts are still investigating the case.
