Beijing's citizens are being told to improve their manners in watching sports competition as the city launched an etiquette-education campaign on Thursday.
The Beijing Municipal Sports Administration said that it will publicize in press and on television sports etiquette and knowledge about the Olympic Movement and sports rules, aiming to create a favorable social environment for the 2008 Olympic Games.
The campaign is the latest in a series of measures to try to tell people appropriate behavior in watching sports competition.
Since last year local newspapers have devoted pages to articles that go sport by sport to educate people when to applaud and when they shouldn't walk around.
