Among the 30 major categories of consumer goods surveyed by the US-based AC Nielsen Company, the sales of yoghourt/sour milk drinks increased most quickly in China with an annual rate of 38 percent last year, the Beijing Daily reported on Tuesday.
The average growth rate of the 30 kinds of consumer goods reached 7 percent last year, with 20 of them experiencing positive growth and 10 increasing by more than 10 percent, the newspaper quoted an AC Nielsen suvery as saying.
Shampoo and baby's milk powder grew 33 percent and 23 percent respectively during the period, ranking the second and third among the 30 kinds of products investigated.
As China's economy continues to grow and residents' incomes keep rising, its market for nondurable consumer goods has been expanding all the time, AC Nielsen Company said in its just-finished report on China's market.
