A 19-year-old student was executed yesterday for stabbing to death two dorm mates because he thought one of them looked down on him.
Xu Lin, a student at a Shaanxi Province secondary school, committed the crime because of an inferiority complex, authorities said.
The execution and case history were reported yesterday on the Website of the Supreme People's Court.
Xu, an introvert and paranoid, believed one of the victims had looked down upon him, according to the report, which cited authorities.
Xu enrolled in a secondary school in Shangluo City last September and shared a dorm with five other students. He didn't socialize.
One of his roommates, Guo Ruofei, often criticized him for littering the room, making Xu believe that Guo looked down upon him.
The two often quarreled and even had fist fights.
On November 2, they quarreled again. Seeking revenge, Xu bought a dagger.
About 4 AM the next morning, Xu fatally stabbed Guo in his bunk.
The noise awoke other dorm mates. Yu Lei, on an upper bunk, shouted at Xu and asked what was happening. Then Xu stabbed Yu to death.
Xu threatened to kill anyone who shouted at him. He robbed the rest at knifepoint of about 60 yuan (US$7.4). He stole a bicycle and fled to his aunt's house.
He was arrested two days later.
