The Red Cross Society of China has received donations worth more than 3.65 billion yuan (US$451 million) since 1991, officials in Beijing said yesterday at a forum on welfare and social harmony.
The society has trained more than 14,000 first-aid specialists in the past five years and helped upgrade health conditions in poor areas of the country.
The Red Cross Society of China will enhance promotion of people's awareness of public welfare and social harmony through co-operation with other non-profit organizations and corporations, said Jiang Yiman, vice-chairperson of the society.
