A promotional presentation of the 5th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) and Ningbo International Trade Mart was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, at the Chinese Export Commodities Fair.
Ministry of Commerce (MOC) is determined to organize CICGF into a well-known expo enjoying both national and international fame, building a trade platform for domestic and foreign enterprises in the sector of consumer goods.
Though only less than 5 years old, CICGF has already become one of the most famous fairs in China, with high consent of MOC, which has listed CICGF as one of China’s important fairs to support since 2003 and joined as co-sponsor from 2004.
At the presentation, Lu Jianhua, director of Foreign Trade Department of MOC, commented that CICGF is playing a vital role as a prominent showcase and an excellent foreign trading platform for Chinese consumer goods, expressing confidence that CICGF will be organized into a well-known international fair.
Leaders from Ningbo Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau also briefed on the progress of CICGF and Ningbo International Trade Mart.
According to the briefing, six-year cooperation agreements have already been signed respectively between CICGF Organizing Committee and exhibition organizers or chambers of commerce from Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Bulgaria, etc. Well-known trade organizations and dignitaries in Germany, the US, Turkey, etc. and foreign business offices in Shanghai have started to cooperate with CICGF, organizing buyers or exhibitors to attend the fair.
A cooperation agreement was also reached between CICGF and China Internet (Information Center), the No.1 governmental gateway website in China. With its vast network resources and multiple language advantages, China Internet will promote CICGF the world over.
International Trade Mart is one of Ningbo's major projects executed during the city’s 11th Five-year period. As part of the project, the first phase of the permanent trade center will be completed and put into use by the end of this year, with home electronics and appliances as major exhibits, and become a part of CICGF from next year on.
