"After communicating with organ transplant recipients from over 60 countries and regions, I have regained the confidence to go on living and I will spread the news to more people in China," said Feng Bin from East China's Shandong Province.
With his ruddy complexion and strong body, no one could imagine that the 36-year-old had had a liver transplant in 2001.
Alongside Feng, the first six Chinese representatives to take part in the World Transplant Games has brought home three silver medals and one bronze.
"The 14th international event was held in France this year and occurs every other year. It is a good opportunity to carry out public education about organ donation and we are planning to organize such an event in China to improve the public's awareness," said professor Chen Zhonghua, vice-president of the Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation.
He was speaking on the "Rainbow Programme" held by Shanghai Roche Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
