Chinese famous writer and scholar Yu Qiuyu has announced that he will retreat from the cultural circle.

He said he will stop writing books and no longer participate in any cultural activities after he finishes revising his four academic books.

He added that besides his dissatisfactory with the current cultural circle, the main reason for his retreat is that he has finished his stressful cultural journey in China.

His new book "My Life" is expected to be published in late July.

Yu Qiuyu's works, including Stressful Cultural Journeying and Notes Made while Living in the Hills, won him prizes and a broad readership in the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. (Photo Source: sina.com.cn)
