Shy Girl Stars as Harry's Crush

Have you ever imagined being admired by Harry Potter? For most J. K. Rowling fans, that's just a fantasy! But for Katie Leung, 17, it came true.

On November 24, Katie, who's from Scotland, came to Beijing to meet fans of her new movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Katie plays the role of Cho Chang, the first girl that Harry has a crush on. Harry sees her on a train and falls in love with her at once.

Katie likes acting with Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry.

"Daniel's friendly, and it's fun to work with him," she said, "In the film, Cho and Harry don't talk much. There's a lot of gazing between them. "

The film is Katie's first acting job. Before she'd never even been in a school play. But she beat 4,000 others to get the part of Cho Chang!

Her father saw an ad on TV and suggested Katie try out. The ad asked for a 16-year-old girl who looks East Asian. Katie waited four hours to audition and won the role in five minutes.

Katie says she's a bit like Cho in a way.

"Cho is emotional and I can be too," said Katie, "But she's athletic and I'm not. I like to sleep. Also, I was very shy at school."

Katie's a British born Chinese and it's her first visit to the mainland.

"I liked the trip to the Great Wall best," she said, "I also went to a silk factory and saw how silk is made. That was interesting."

Katie Leung answers Teens' questions

Teens: It's your first role. Are you happy with your acting?

Katie: I'm very satisfied. I liked working with those wonderful people (like Daniel Radcliffe). My family saw the film and they were impressed. And I've got feedback from others.

Teens: What do you think of the fourth film?

Katie: It's darker than the other films. It's my favorite Harry Potter film. A lot more is happening. You get action, romance and friendship. Everything's there. And it's scary, so be careful.

What's in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Harry Potter and his friends are in their fourth year at Hogwarts. A big event is the Triwizard Tournament. Each year three wizard schools send students to take part in it. This year, the Goblet of Fire picks four boys to go, including Harry! At the same time, Voldemort is ready to be born again. Will Harry meet all the challenges?
