Wutai Mountain to Hold World Buddhism Culture Festival

The holy land Wutai Mountain is planning to hold the first World Buddhism Culture Festival. China Radio International reported Friday.

 

The holy land Wutai Mountain is planning to hold the first World Buddhism Culture Festival, boasting various Buddhist ceremonies and activities from next Monday. The festival will last for a month.

 

A seminar on Buddhist culture, Kiddush and an arts expo will make up the largest part of the activities for this holy festival. Buddhist cultural relics and Buddhist food will also be on display in famous temples in Wutai Mountain, such as Xian Tong Temple.

 

Disciples and visitors will also have the chance to enjoy the performances by Buddhist music bands from South Korea and China's Shao Lin Temple and Wutai Mountain.

Wutai Mountain, or the Five Terrace Mountain, is located in north China's Shanxi Province and has served as a Buddhist pilgrimage site.
