A Chinese Translation Achievements Exhibition, hosted by he Translators Association of China (TAC) and the China International Publishing Group, opened yesterday at the Chinese Military Museum in Beijing.
The exhibition, the first of its kind since the founding of New China in 1949, features the fruitful works of China's translators and interpreters on such fields as foreign affairs, literature, scholarly translation and education.
The State Council Information Office Minister Zhao Qizheng, International Federation of Translators President Betty Cohen and TAC President Song Shusheng were among those at the opening ceremony.
The exhibition is being held simultaneously as the four-day meeting of the executive council of the TAC. The meeting, held once every five years, is being attended by up to 400 representatives from around the country.
