A Shaolin Martial Art Center will be built in Da'ao, an island resort in the west of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau is developing the center with the Hong Kong Culture Association.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed mid next year.

In order to attract more tourists, the Hong Kong Government has been committed to popularizing local culture and traditional arts and customs.

An important part of Chinese culture, Shaolin martial art attracts overseas tourists to China.

Last year monks from the mainland's Shaolin Temple were invited to perform in Hong Kong.
