Beijing audience will soon be able to enjoy a new version of the song and dance performance Dunhuang My Dreamland.
The show, produced and originally performed in 2001, will start its next phase next January.
The songs and dances aim to represent the scenes of the famous "Silk Road". Some choreographing of the play is adapted from the flying figures depicted in the Mogao Grotto.
The show tells a tragic love story of a young artist and the daughter of a general in ancient times. Lanzhou Song & Dance Theatre took two years to produce the play, which not only tells us a love story, but also presents the art and culture of Dunhuang.
