After winning praise at this year's Toronto Film Festival, Chinese movie star Liu Xiaoqing's latest hit Plastic Flowers has been invited to compete in next year's Berlin Film Festival.
 
The 51-year old actress Liu Xiaoqing has likewise been commended for her lead role in the film, which is different from her formally more "sophisticated" style of acting.

More of the world's most innovative films are to be screened at the annual event, which will open on February 10th next year.
