To ensure the peace of the human world, Huangdi has no choice but to put to death the rebellious Chiyou.
Everything did not go well in the world of gods. Disharmony brewed between Huangdi and his elder brother Yandi, the God of South Heaven. Both were kind rulers, who did not want war, but discord was sewn between them by the assistants under Yandi. Noted among them were Gonggong the water god and Zhurong the fire god.
When war became inevitable, the two armies met at Banquan. Zhurong started a fire to burn Huangdi’s army, but it was put out immediately by Yinglong, the water god. Gonggong conjured a flood, but he was overpowered by Huangdi’s daughter Ba, the goddess of drought. It was a war of unequal strength. Yandi was reconciled to the defeat, retreating to the south to heel his wounds and to devote himself to farming and medicine.
