Beijing to Host Exhibition for Tourism Destinations

Beijing will host the first annual exhibition for tourism destinations from March 25 to 27.

Fourteen countries, including Germany, Italy, Finland, Egypt, Tunis, Malaysia and Fiji, as well as Hong Kong and Macao, will join the exhibition.

Chinese travel agencies will offer 28 new routes for travelers. There will be a photo exhibition and VCD display to attract potential Chinese tourists.

"The exhibition is aimed at enhancing exchanges and cooperation with other nations, as well as further promote China's tourism prosperity," said Yu Changjiang, director of Beijing Tourism Administration.

The display will also give more ideas to travelers and call for honest behavior by travel agencies, said Yang Jianwei, general manager of Beijing Huayu Travel Company.

China has become Asia's biggest tourism source nation, with 28.5 million overseas travelers in 2004.
