A grand ceremony will be held in central China's Henan Province to worship Zhuanxu and Diku, two legendary ancestors of the Chinese nation, later this month.
Zhuanxu and Diku were prominent in the formation of fields such as social order, ethics, and religious reform in ancient China and have long been heralded as founding fathers of the Chinese culture.
The grand ceremony will be part of the activities planned for a10-day Zhuanxu and Diku mausoleum worshipping festival that is scheduled to take place in Neihuang County, Henan Province, next Wednesday, organizers said.
In addition to a public offering ritual, other cultural and economic activities such as a photo show, a concert, as well as trade talks will take place at the festival, the fourth of its kind.
More than one million people from home and overseas have visited Neihuang County, which falls under the jurisdiction of Anyang, a well-known historical city, to pay homage to the two great ancestors in the past three festivals.
This year's worshipping festival will be jointly sponsored by the governments of Anyang City, Neihuang County, and the tourism bureau of Anyang City.
