Hong Kong is celebrating the centenary of Chinese film by holding an exhibition at the Hong Kong Film Archive, showcasing images of the traditional lifestyle and customs of the Pearl River Delta area.
In this exhibition people could see how the film industry in Hong Kong and Guangzhou has changed over the last 100 years and there will also be lectures about the life in this area reflected in these films.
The organizers say that Hong Kong and Guangzhou are culturally similar, and they have long influenced each other in film production. Looking at these early films, visitors will clearly see these collaborations between the two cities in works which we consider as "classics" today.
The exhibition is on until June 5.
