A trio concert tour by French musicians opened at Peking University Tuesday night, before the upcoming end of The Year of France in China.
Alliance Francaise, or French Alliance, an international French school, has invited Romain Garioud to play the violoncello, Florent Hau to play the clarinet and Patrick Zygmanowski to play the piano.
They are to perform the works of Debussy, Faur, Brahms, Poulenc, Bruch, Conesson and Beethoven, involving the classical, jazz and tango.
They also will give performances in Hangzhou, Shanghai, Leshan, Chengdu and Dalian from Sept. 15 to 19.
The Year of France in China, which opened in October 2004, will close this month with an array of events, including a special film fair for French star Sophie Marceau, a performance by Paris Opera Ballet, an evening ball in the Summer Palace, and a jamboree on the Great Wall. Enditem
