May Day Holiday to Be Canceled in Universities
The Education Department of central China's Hubei Province is ordering its universities to skip the three-day May Day holiday and continue with the regular curriculum for fear of SARS spread.

The decision followed the latest notice issued by the Ministry of Education stipulating that universities cancel or partially cancel the May Day Holiday according to the local situation.

The Summer vacation would be extended to make up the skipped holidays and students have supported the decision.

The notice has been issued to all the province's universities, including the elite Wuhan University.

Education departments in Zhejiang and Hunan provinces have already decided to suspend the May Day holiday.
