Preparations Well Underway for University Entrance Exams in Beijing
Beijing's education, communication and medical departments are well prepared for the impending national university entrance exams, with one day to go.

To date, the city's 212 exam sites have all been sealed off for sterilization and room set-up.

The city's communication department has dispatched at least three traffic officers for every exam site to control traffic problems. Students can dial 122 for help if they encounter any traffic difficulties on the way to the exam site.

The city bus company has prepared 280 sterilized buses exclusively for examinees, who will be able to ride for free after showing their identification cards.

A taxi company has promised to dispatch about 100 taxis to take the children of frontline SARS medical workers to their exam sites.

About 30 ambulances are also in places to deal with any medical emergency situation at an exam site.

The annual national university entrance exam is significant for the country's millions of high school graduates as it is their only way to enter university.
