Latin pop icon Julio Iglesias will perform his first solo show on China's mainland as part of the Shanghai International Arts Festival, organizers confirmed Tuesday.
They said that they are also making "an unremitting effort" to invite Grammy Award winner Mariah Carey to join in the upcoming extravaganza in town.
Iglesias' concert is scheduled for November 18 at the Shanghai Grand Stage to wind up the monthlong festival.
The 60-year-old Iglesias has won worldwide recognition and respect by selling more than 250 million copies of his 77 albums over the past 30 years -- the most by any artists, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Iglesias was in Shanghai in 1993 at the opening ceremony of the First East Asia Games.
Festival organizers said the concert will feature a representative collection of Iglesias' most renowned pieces, including "All of You," "To All The Girls," and "Let It Be Me."
As usual, the arts festival provides a comprehensive blend of music, dance, drama, magic shows and acrobatics and more.
