Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said on Monday that Iraq will extend the duration of the ongoing Iraq war and win a final victory against the US and British forces.
In a televised speech to the nation, Saddam praised generals and commanders leading resistance in southern Iraq for what they have done for the country and called Iraqis in Baghdad, Mosul, Basra and other Iraqi cities to fight enemies strongly and inflict huge loss on them.
He also criticized countries which advised Iraq to submit to the UN pressure and open all the doors of Iraq before UN weapons inspectors.
Despite all submissions and cooperation done by Iraq, the United States and Britain had started a war against Iraq, he said.
It was the first time that the Iraqi television station interrupted its normal program to let Saddam address the nation.
