The China Red Cross Society (CRCS) said Saturday it will donate US$100,000 as humanitarian aid to Iraqi refugees.
A CRCS release which reached in Beijing said the organization decided Thursday that half of the donation will go to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the other half to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
According to the release, the CRCS has been deeply concerned over the war in Iraq. On March 21, it issued a statement, showing great anxiety over the casualties and losses of property caused by the war, and urging the parties concerned to abide by the Geneva Convention and to reduce the harm and suffering brought by war to the minimum level.
