The United States said Thursday that about 58 countries have offered to contribute to the postwar reconstruction in Iraq.
"We've already heard from about 58 countries who are interested in contributing in various ways," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told reporters at a regular press briefing.
They have offered to "provide some police or military units to help maintain stability or to provide medical kits or wheat," Boucher said.
