Beijing Ready to Share SARS Prevention Experience with Taiwan Province
Beijing is willing to improve communication and share experience with Taiwan Province in combating SARS (sever acute respiratory syndrome), said a senior Beijing official Saturday.

Beijing wishes Taiwan people win an early victory over the fight against SARS, municipal publicity head Cai Fuchao said at a press conference.

"We will give our best regards to the Taiwan compatriots and wish them a happy and healthy life," said Cai, also an official with the city's anti-SARS joint task force.

Cai said Beijing has seen a "notable downward" trend of SARS cases over the last week thanks to the government's effective disease control and treatment measures.

The number of SARS patients in the city dropped markedly from May 17 to May 23, with the average confirmed SARS cases decreasing to 13.2 per day, said he.
