Two Chinese Films to Compete for Oscar

Chinese movie The Promise will represent Chinese mainland in the race for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Oscar, while the Perhaps Love represents Hong Kong.

The competition for the only one admission ticket in Hong Kong was extremely fierce, as three equally strong films The Myth, Everlasting Regret and Perhaps Love competed with each other for a chance to battle for the honor.

"My film is not an artistic film, which has to enter different film festivals to gain recognition. So I only need to compete for the best one in the world," said Peter Chan, the director of Perhaps Love, who expressed his confidence for the production.

Similar competition also took place on the Chinese mainland, The Promise beat Keke Xili and Letter From an Unknown Woman to gain the ticket to Oscar competition.
