The first Olympic movie, literally titled The Blue Ocean and A Brave Heart, will begin shooting soon.

Hong Kong Film Awards winner Tony Leung will team up with Chinese mainland rising actor Huang Jue in the new project, Chengdu Daily reported on Wednesday.

Based on a true story, the film tells of a canoeist who overcomes difficulties to finally snatch the gold medal in the Olympic Games.

Baby in Love youth idol Huang Jue will play the hero, while Tony Leung will play his coach.

Huang will spend six months in preparation for his role, taking part in both bodybuilding and weight training, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Producer Li Xiaowan and Hollywood playwright Chi Shao'ai have gone to visit the Chinese national canoeing team to experience the real life of canoe athletes for the film.
