China's multi-award-winning romantic film "The Knot", has put its sight on next year's 79th Academy Awards in the US.
The film has applied to China's film bureau for a chance to join in the race for Oscar nomination, according to the Hangzhou-based Dushikuaibao report. However, the bureau says that it will discuss the appeal before making a decision.
The deadline for Oscar nomination applications is September 30. It has already been confirmed that Johnnie To's gangster film "Exiled" and Ang Lee's spy thriller "Lust, Caution" will take part in the illustrious competition.
Another mainland hit, "The Sun Also Rises", directed by Jiang Wen, has yet to comment on its possible inclusion.
