Ingredients: 500 grams (1.1 lb) tender beef 10 grams (1/3 oz) sectioned scallions 5 grams (1/6 oz) sliced ginger 25 grams (1 3/4 tbsp) cooking wine 10 grams (1 1/2 tsp) soy sauce 5 grams (1/6 oz) cinnamon 5 grams (1/6 oz) licorice root 15 grams (1/2 oz) aniseed 2 grains of clove 300 grams (3/5 cup)water
Directions:
1. Cut the beef into large chunks, add the cooking wine, soy sauce, salt, scallions, ginger and other spices. Mix well and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
2. Add the water to the marinated beef with the spices and bring to a boil. When it starts to boil, turn to a low fire to simmer for 1 hour. Take the beef out and when it cools off, cut into slices. Put on a plate and serve.
Features: Dark brown in color. Taste: Richly flavored.
