Jia Qinglin, chairman of China's top political advisory body, said on Wednesday that its staff should work to improve the country's advisory work.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China has entered a new stage of building a well-off society and speeding up the construction of the socialist modernization, which has brought about much room for CPPCC members to exert all their capability and wisdom.
"All the members at various levels of the CPPCC should improve their sense of responsibility and mission," said Jia when addressing a conference on the secretary-general work.
He said the CPPCC should take the ideological and theory work as the top priority and make its own contributions to the country's economic and social development.
He also called to establish more practical mechanisms and procedures that help carry out the CPPCC's advisory work more smoothly and effectively.
