Jiang Zemin, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China, recently signed the Provisions on the Archives of the People's Liberation Army.
The new statute will revise and improve the previous Provisionson the Work of Archives of the People's Liberation Army enacted in1986.
The new decree further regularizes army archival work with Jiang's theory on the national defense and the army building as the guiding ideology, according to official sources.
It comprises eight articles and 43 clauses, involving all issues related to the management of military archives, which is expected to help better keep the history and useful information for the army.
