Officials Urged to Study Recycling Economy

Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan has urged officials to study recycling economy, which serves as a new guideline for China's economic development.

Writing the preface of a related book published recently, Zeng said it is important for China to promote sustainable economic and social development through the efficient use and reuse of resources.

China has been promoting a recycling-based economy as a development guideline in recent years, so as to ensure its fast economic and social development with the lowest possible costs and least damage to the natural environment.

The book, named "Readings on A Recycling-based Economy for Local Officials," was compiled by Xie Zhenhua, director of the State Environmental Protection Administration.

The book introduces a recycling-based economy through the theory's history, meaning, practices, and evaluation models.
