The Chinese government and Chinese society have paid unprecedented attention to information security, as they realized that information is one of the most prime resources for social development, said an official with Ministry of Public Security on Tuesday.
Gu Jianguo, deputy director of the public information and Internet safety supervision department under the Ministry of Public Security, said here that the Chinese government has put the work of safeguarding information security, political security, economic security and cultural security on equal footing, as information security has become a key issue for the country's long-run development.
He predicted that in the next three to five years, China's information market will maintain a high-speed growth momentum. Telecommunications, governmental administration and finance will become the industries most dependant on information security.
With the approval by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Seventh China International Internet and Information Security Exhibition will beheld in June, 2006 in Beijing. The exhibition will showcase the vanguard technology in information security in the Asia-Pacific regions.
