Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan urged the development of public service sector on Thursday, noting that it is significally important to improve people's life.
Zeng, also member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee, visited some Beijing residents at Tuanjiehu community on Thursday afternoon and asked about the heating system in the apartments.
Before he got on the car to leave the community, he talked with some taxi drivers outside the community. Zeng asked how many hours they work each day and how much they need to pay to the taxi company.
Zeng attended a discussion meeting on the public service development later and said the government must make sure that the city's heating systems operate well as the weather gets colder and colder.
The Beijing government should also further regulate the management on the taxi and safeguard the legitimate rights of drivers, he said.
