Chinese film The Parking Attendant In July has won the Grand Jury Prize at the Montreal Film Festival in Canada.

Lead actor Fan Wei, who plays the parking attendant in the film also won the title of Best Actor.

Fan brings a charm to the role of Du Hongjun, a middle-aged parking attendant outside a glitzy nightclub.

As a famous Chinese comic, Fan Wei makes a smooth transition to more serious fare in The Parking Attendant in July, a likable light drama centered on a father and son in contemporary Beijing.

Four hundred films from seventy odd countries are in the running for eight awards in this year's Montreal film fest.
