Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing hopes China and Britain can further push the healthy development of bilateral relations.
During a meeting with visiting British Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell, Li Zhaoxing said the two countries have decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, which will bring Sino-British ties to a new high.
He hopes the two sides can continue to strengthen mutual understanding and trust to seriously deal with issues of common concern.
Rammell says the frequent high-level contacts and political consultations are conducive to reaching consensus for the two countries' leaders on important international and regional issues.
Rammell reaffirms Britain's adherence to the one-China policy.
The two ministers also exchanged views on UN reforms and the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
