Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed appointed Ali Mohammed Ghedi as the new prime minister of the country on Wednesday.
51-year-old Ghedi said he would form the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia within one month and pledged to foster a sound relationship with neighbors in the region.
Ghedi also called on Somali people to give their utmost support to the country's reconstruction.
In October 2002, the Somali government and all clans in the countries met in Kenya to end the 10-year civil war and reached a consensus on the peace process earlier this year.
