Jordanian, Chinese Officials Hold Talks

Jordanian Foreign Minister Hani Mulki said his country looks forward to China's role in the Mideast peace process in Amman on Thursday.

During a meeting with Lu Guozeng, China's Assistant Foreign Minister, Mulki said he values China's sustained stand of supporting for permanent peace in the region.

He said the Palestinian issue is the core of Mideast conflicts, stressing that it should be solved as soon as possible.

Lu briefed Mulki the achievements of visits paid by Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan recently to Israel and Palestine.

Lu also informed the Jordanian top diplomat China's new proposes toward the Mideast peace process.

He said China is keen to promote the ties with Jordan.

Lu arrived in Amman Thursday for a two-days visit to Jordan.
