Hollywood Eyes Chinese Dramatist

Filmmaking giant Paramount Pictures has paid a young Chinese screenwriter US$2 million for his scripts.

20-year old Xie Hang sold his award-winning works Painful Experience and Disc of Passion and also agreed to work for Paramount, one of the world's biggest moviemakers, as a screenwriter for the next five years.

Xie Hang is a graduate of the Art Department of Auckland University, a recognized cradle for Hollywood directors and screenwriters.

Experts say the move is also a way for Hollywood moguls to tap the Chinese market.
