The Secretary General of the Hong Kong Red Cross, KM Chan, says the international Red Cross groups' conference on the Indian Ocean tsunami reconstruction will be held in early March in Hong Kong.
Delegations from the Red Cross groups of the affected regions and nearly 50 donor countries will participate into the conference, to discuss an evaluation report from an expert group.
The expert group is conducting a series of investigations and evaluations in the affected regions on the need for medical treatment, housing and drinking water.
KM Chan says, up to now, the Hong Kong Red Cross has received 457 million Hong Kong dollars in donations, or over US$58 million.
