Premier Wen Jiabao sent his congratulations Wednesday to Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra over the latter's winning of a second term, saying China will further enhance cooperation with Thailand.
In his message, Wen said China and Thailand are good neighbors, good partners and good friends, vowing to continue close cooperation with his Thai counterpart to further promote friendship and push bilateral strategic cooperation to new heights.
The all-round development of strategic cooperative relations has not only produced real benefits for the two nations and two peoples, but also made contributions to regional peace, stability and prosperity, Wen said.
As the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties this year, bilateral relations are enjoying new opportunities, Wen said.
Thaksin was endorsed Wednesday by Thailand's parliament for a second four-year term following his landslide election victory last month.
Thaksin and his new Cabinet are expected to be sworn in by King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Monday.
