President of the Thai National Assembly Phokin Palakul met in Bangkok Monday with Wang Zhaoguo, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress (NPC). They exchanged views on the friendly cooperation and relationship between the two countries and two congresses.
Wang said that Thailand is one of the best neighbors of China and the relationship between the two countries grows healthily in the past 30 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.
Especially in the past few years, the two countries have been developing strategic cooperation and relations between the two countries have entered a new stage, he said.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Thai government and National Assembly for pursuing the one-China policy.
Phokin, also speaker of the House of Representatives, spoke highly of the friendly exchanges between the two countries. He said the exchanges between the Thai National Assembly and the NPC are important components of the friendly relationship and cooperation between Thailand and China.
After the talks, Wang also met with Suchon Chaleekure, president of the Senate of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The NPC delegation headed by Wang arrived in Bangkok Friday on a four-day official goodwill visit as guests of the Thai National Assembly.
