Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo Manriquevice met in Lima Tuesday with Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC)and head of the China-Latin America Friendship Association.
Toledo said the Peruvian government attached great importance to the relations with China and that he was satisfied with the development of bilateral relations in recent years.
Peru will make further efforts to expand bilateral trade and welcome Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in his country, he said.
Cheng said the traditional friendly relations between the two countries have seen rapid development and expressed confidence that the relations would be broadened and deepened continuously and benefit peoples of the two countries.
The two countries agreed this year to build all-round comprehensive partnership and the move has added new vigor to the bilateral cooperation of mutual benefit in various fields, he noted.
Cheng arrived in Peru Monday after visiting Argentina.
