Police liaison officers from foreign embassies said in Beijing Thursday that they will strengthen cooperation and keep close contact and exchanges with their Beijing counterparts.
Sixty-seven police liaison officers from 33 foreign embassies, including the US, Greece, Belgium and Japan, watched a combat exercise with live ammunition on Thursday morning performed by the Beijing special police.
When visited the Beijing police equipment, a police officer from Germany said that some of the equipment, especially electronic equipment, is more advanced than in Western countries.
The foreign police officers also attended a reception held by the Beijing Public Security Bureau.
Ma Zhenchuan, head of the bureau, said on the occasion that to strengthen cooperation with foreign counterparts is conducive not only to the security of foreign embassies in China, but to the international cooperation in the war on terror.
"I hope our cooperation can come closer and become more effective," Ma added.
