Singapore is willing to join hands with Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, in developing on-line gaming industry, said a senior Singaporean infocom official in Chengdu Thursday.
The online gaming industry is enjoying huge potential in the southwestern regions of China, which is fueled by more than a million players who spend tens of millions of yuan a year, said Thomas Lim, director of Singapore's Infocom Development Authority (IDA) DA Games and Entertainment.
He made the remarks at a conference on software and information service cooperation between China and Singapore in Chengdu, which attracted CEOs from 13 companies, such as Pacific Internet, WooWorld, and NewEra.
Singapore would like to cooperate with Chengdu in digital entertainment industry, Lim said.
He added that Singapore is ready to build a channel for product development, operation and sale with Chengdu.
According to the Chengdu municipal office of information industry, the city is one of the country's leading centers of digital entertainment.
