China will work with Guinea-Bissau to raise the cooperation between the two nations and the two armed forces to new heights, said a senior military officer on Thursday.
Guo Boxiong, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, made the remarks during talks with Baptista Tagme Na Wae, chief of the general staff of Guinea-Bissau's armed forces.
Guo said China and Guinea-Bissau have witnessed smooth and fruitful cooperation in various fields.
China appreciates Guinea-Bissau's adherence to the one-China policy, Guo said.
Na Wae expressed his appreciation for China's support and help to Guinea-Bissau, saying that Guinea-Bissau's armed forces is ready to work with China to promote the existing friendly cooperation between the two nations.
He reiterated that Guinea-Bissau would continue to adhere to the one-China policy.
Liang Guanglie, chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army, also met with Na Wae earlier on Thursday, pledging to further enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two armed forces.
Na Wae arrived on Wednesday on a week-long visit to China at the invitation of Liang.
